Testimony of Ilona Raams, mission trip Bonaire, Curaçao, Tobago, Trinidad January 2012

On behalf of Vernon, thank you for all your prayers. The prayer of the righteous avails much, because He adds power to it. We have seen the results of those prayers. First in Bonaire, then to Curaçao, Tobago, Trinidad and passing through Curaçao back to Holland. What touched me at this trip is, that again, God has proven to be a supernatural God, with supernatural power. I just cannot get enough of that. He has done mighty things again. I feel so privileged, everytime I get a chance to join the team and when the Holy Spirit is confirming the Word by healings and deliverances, while I can be an eyewitness, right on top of it.

In Bonaire there was prayed for: Women who could not get children. A lady with a back problem, causing her to walk only very difficult and with pain, started running through the building. The pain was gone. She had never experienced the power of God like that before. A woman was healed of a tumor in the breast. Several people got delivered, even before the meeting started. Also a girl, who had to live on the street most of the time, with all its consequences. There were also people, touched by the Holy Spirit, who went home in obedience to work with the message they heard. One man felt electricity going through him, when he was home and in obedience raised his hands (as a token of surrender). In the youth meeting, a girl, full of the devil, got delivered (you could smell the garlic on her, but you cannot fight spiritual things with natural things). On Sunday she came back to the meeting and she was sitting at the front. We couldn’t even recognize her. She looked much younger and was dressed so nice. A girl who wanted to commit suicide was touched and delivered. A boy with long hair and clothed in black, etc. was touched by the Lord and on Sunday he came back as another person. He had even cut his hair. On the last Sunday many people came to the front to testify about their healing and/or deliverance during that week. A special, fruitful week.

In Curaçao we had one meeting. A lady got healed of pain in her back and leg. Another lady received inner healing. A girl was healed of arthrosis and got delivered and another lady was able to raise her arm after prayer.

Then we went to Tobago. Here also was prayed for barrenness. And many people came to the altar for rheumatoid arthritis. Also apart from the meetings, mornings or afternoons, several times a request would come to go and pray for somebody. For example, a lady got out of her wheelchair, after pastor Vernon laid hands on her in the hospital. One lady came to the place where we were staying. She could not walk properly. She carried a stick around, because at any moment pain would hit in her upper legs, which would make it very difficult for her to walk. Before, this lady had been in a wheelchair. Pastor Vernon prayed for her, rebuked the spirit of sickness and she fell back in her chair. Then she got up and let go a deep sigh (yawn). Then we went outside to practice walking, and finally she even went running. The swelling on her upper leg was gone. Later, while in a church meeting in Trinidad, we met the mother of this lady (it was her idea to send her daughter to pastor Vernon). She told us her daughter was still able to walk good, totally healed. She had that problem since 2009.

There were several marriage seminars and a men’s meeting. In another church many people were bound and they could not look at pastor Vernon. Several people got healed, also from asthma, and a man who could not walk properly (caused by diabetes) was able to walk normal again. We prayed for people with incurable diseases. But for our God nothing is impossible. He is the great Physician. Before we left for Trinidad, pastor Vernon was asked to come back to Tobago, and if he comes, many meetings will be arranged. That shows integrity, a must in ministry.

In Trinidad it was hard labor as well, but the breakthrough came. The Holy Spirit was touching several people, also a lady with mental problems. Another lady came under such great conviction that she dropped on her knees. A lady got healed of a back problem, that she had been suffering with for more than ten years. A young girl was touched, the pastor and his wife received prayer, etc.

In another church a lady was literally chattering her teeth, but she got free. There was prayer for uncleanness, a lady and a boy got free from nicotine. A man who was prayed for, felt as if electricity went through his body. There was an altar call for women who were being abused, etc. etc.

How is it, that the Holy Spirit is able to move like that? It takes holy and righteous living. That is how you will get authority. One of the things manifest at this mission trip was, that Christian living is about helping people in need. Therefore we need the Holy Spirit. He will show us people’s needs.

Luke 11:9-13 is about ‘Asking for the Holy Spirit’. “HOW MUCH MORE WILL YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM?” One of the greatest hindrances for ministry is ‘SELF’, like self justification, self love, selfishness, youe own will, self exaltation, self pity, self deception. Your ‘OWN SELF’ has to die. Your SELF is an enemy of God’s work. We must deny ourselves, every day.

John 12:24, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but If it die, it brings forth much fruit.”

John 15:1-8, “… (8)Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”

Make sure you will not become a branch that is withered on the vine, but abide in Him, so you will not be cast into the fire. We will be judged because of this.

Matt.25:35-46 “… for I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink …”

And come to the house of God, the way the preacher says in Ecclesiastes 5:1, “Keep your foot when you go to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.”

Acts 10:33, Cornelius, a heathen, was ready to hear what Peter had to say, “Immediately therefore I sent to you; and you have well done that you have come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded you of God.” Make sure your life is in order, so you can live in victory, every day. And yes, suffering will be a part of your life, because a servant is not above his master. Jesus has suffered, and for what? He did only good. A holy fear of God must come back to the church. All hypocrisy, sins and false teachings must leave the church. Be zealous, just like Jesus, John 2:14-17, “… (17b) the zeal of Your house has eaten me up.” Become a doer of the Word and not a forgetful hearer.

Jam.1:22, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

Everybody should be going on a mission trip and see the circumstances the people are living in.

Rodney and Tisha’s house is so full and still they let us stay with them! Talking about hospitality! We must have the same compassion like Jesus had. I want it. If you are not there yet, just ask Him. There is a world out there on their way to hell. Let us make ourselves available, and become zealous in doing the work of a Christian, also in meeting the needs of people. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to speak to us and give us the right words, and let us forget our ‘own self’. Now is the time to become a doer of the Word!!!!

May God bless you richly,

Ilona Raams.

PS. This is only a small part of the healings and deliverances that were taking place during this trip. So many lives have been transformed. It was a very fruitful trip, and I am taking the liberty to ask you to support this work. Not only in prayer, but also financially.

We are busy fulfilling the Great Commission, Matt.28:19. The mission trips are always arranged in a way that as much as possible, the money is being used for the people where we are going. And nothing is being spent on luxury (fancy hotels), and things that don’t really matter. All members that join the team pay their own expenses for the trip. So your money is always being used for the purpose you gave it for. Many times we go back to the places we have been before, to see how the people are doing. So your contribution is more than welcome. We will use it wisely. And this is fertile ground.
