Report Leeana Changoor, mission trip Trinidad – 30 August-25 September 2016

Sanctify them by your truth, Your Word is truth (John 17:17). My experience and evidence of this mission trip has personally brought growth and a closer relationship with Almighty God and made me hunger more of God’s Word. The fear of God was one of the messages that we realize is lacking today especially that it is needed now more than ever. Apostle Vernon Davis was used mightily by God and the Holy Spirit in such an intense schedule. The wisdom of God’s Word increased in my life as the Word went forth like a hammer crushing the hearts of stone and making ready the ones who are eager and zealous to work for God. What truly inspired me was that we are not Christians because we want to seek God for a job or a big house or materials but it must be to meeting the human needs. Just like an organization is set with a specific culture, so we know the church has grown into cultures and traditions and the Word is manipulated to be used for self-gain, self-pity and all the self that is leading to selfishness. The Church is an organism and not an organization. These meetings made me re-evaluate how God intended his house to be, just as the zeal had eaten up Christ for how God’s house ought to be (John 2:17, and his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.)

1 Timothy 4:16, Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this, you will save both yourself and those who hear you. This scripture has truly ministered unto me and I also share it with others that we continue in the Lord and his Word which is able to save us and those around us. So I am encouraged to pursue God’s Word and to live as He called us forth to live. It is our responsibility as the church and soldiers of Christ to go and tell others of Christ, for surely we know that the days we live in are as the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. It is time the church matures in the Word and desires to live in witnessing to the unsaved and speaking the Word in boldness, having a life free from sin and ungodliness. It is time the church rises up and shapes up to be true children of God. When Voice to the Nations touches down on Trinidad, and the Word is ministered, we receive the Word not that it came through a man but as it came from God. I thank God for this ministry that we are also here in the humble beginnings of also having Voice to the Nations Trinidad but more so, for God birthing a church that is founded on his Word and the members can grow up like soldiers ready to battle.

With the Power of God’s Word as strong and mightily, the Holy Spirit moved and healed so many people who were ready to receive from the Lord after the Word went forth. A woman who never ran in her life because she had asthma was running on the aisles of the church after she had an encounter with the Holy Spirit. She was completely healed from her sickness and we thank God for this. My brother Selwyn was saved as he gave his life to Christ at this trip and my bigger brother Kevin was able to go to many of the meetings to hear the Word of God preached, which was my prayer for many years. I Thank God for never failing us and always in his timing and we glorify Him for his amazing love that He has surely brought our family back together. He is surely a father to the fatherless and his eyes are always upon us. A woman with a swelling and another with an issue of blood were totally healed and gave their testimony. Many who were depressed and contemplating suicide were charged and felt the love of God upon their lives that they will never be the same. A woman with colon cancer was also healed. The Apostle also made us lay hands on ourselves and command our body to function and to rebuke any sickness or disease. Since then, usually I also will have a pulse that is irregular and most times increasing exceedingly, I have not felt it as much as I did in the past. I thank God for that and his healing hand.

God is still concerned about us and our health and imagine what the Lord will do when we serve Him like slaves and are bound to Him. It is truly an honour to be a slave for Jesus and to do his work. Your innermost being will never feel as joyous as when you allow God to control your life and to allow his Word to talk and teach us. This mission trip was no vacation; it was no walk in the park for us neither a getaway or lying in the sunset and mixing with salt water. It was intense, it was meeting human needs, and it was living a sacrificial life. We could just imagine how much preparation and labour was done by the minister as he just like Paul beat his body daily so he can minister the Word with all that is in him. Being called an apostle comes with great challenge, it’s doing the dirty work in ministry. Its rebuking the sins, and cleaning and removing the toxic souls and cleaning them like a purging. In times like this, many Christians don’t want this and ministers have become complacent. I thank God for using this minister as one who can purge the church and speak against all filthiness. To speak against sin means we have to not be in sin. We are honoured to meet and be part of Voice to the Nations. It is truly an honour to have been part of this mission trip and to contribute our skills and ourselves to God, for without Him we are nothing.

We thank God for Apostle Vernon Davis and his family, and the members also who invest and pray for him while he is on the field. I pray that the Lord will bless you all richly. Love you all very much.
